Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Tow Jam browser extension ("Extension," "we," "us," or "our"), developed by Nollie, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Extension. Tow Jam is a workplace tool for tow dispatchers and is currently offered as a closed beta to invited companies only.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: The email address and password you use to sign in. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. The Extension does not keep your password; it stores a sign-in token in your browser so you stay signed in.
- Job data from AAA Salesforce Field Service: Read from the dispatch page you are viewing: customer name, phone number, pickup and drop-off addresses, vehicle information, job type, work order and PO numbers, membership level, service territory, tow miles, status, and scheduled time.
- Curbside SOS data: Your company's rotation position and zone on the Curbside SOS dashboard, your company's driver list (driver names and IDs), and which driver you have chosen for auto-assign.
- Company settings: Rates, Towbook charge names, service territories, and the Curbside zone, set by your company's account owner.
- Browser name: The name you give each browser running Tow Jam, a random identifier for that browser, and when its Tow Jam tabs were last open. This lets the Tow Jam mobile app send an action to the right computer.
- Bug reports: The title, description, and messages you write when you report a problem from the Extension, along with the name shown in the Extension.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use this information only to provide Tow Jam's features:
- Copy jobs from Salesforce Field Service into Towbook's New Call form and add the matching charges.
- Show your job list and alert you when AAA removes or cancels a job.
- Alert you to changes in your Curbside SOS rotation position and auto-assign the driver you choose.
- Sync your job list and Curbside status to the Tow Jam mobile app, send job alerts to your phone, and carry out actions you start from the app, such as changing a job's status.
- Check that your account has access to Tow Jam.
- Investigate and respond to bug reports.
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to these features, and we do not sell it.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
On your device. The Extension keeps the following in your browser's local storage: the job currently being copied to Towbook, recently removed jobs, the Curbside job log, your feature settings, a cached copy of your company settings, and your sign-in token. This data stays in your browser and is deleted when you uninstall the Extension.
On our servers. The following is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), linked to your account:
- Your account's access status and company membership.
- Your company settings and your Curbside auto-assign choice.
- For the mobile app: your current job list (vehicle, pickup and drop-off addresses, job type, work order and PO numbers, membership level, territory, tow miles, and status — but not the customer's name or phone number), your Curbside position and driver list, and your browser names.
- Job alerts sent to your phone, which include the job type, vehicle, and pickup address. Alerts are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Your bug reports and their messages.
4. Data Retention
- The synced job list is replaced every time your list changes, so it only holds the jobs currently on your list.
- Phone alerts are deleted automatically after about 7 days.
- Bug reports are kept until you or we delete them.
- Account information, company settings, and browser names are kept while your account is active. You can ask us to delete them at any time (see Section 8).
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We share it only:
- With our service provider: Google Firebase stores and processes data on our behalf (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Messaging).
- Within your company: Company settings are visible to the members of your company's Tow Jam account. Your job list, alerts, and browser names are tied to your own account.
- With Tow Jam support: We read your bug reports in order to respond to them.
- When required by law.
6. Permissions
The Extension requests the following browser permissions:
- Storage: Keeps your settings, sign-in token, and the job being copied between tabs.
- Access to *.aaa.com: Reads job data from the Salesforce Field Service dispatch page.
- Access to app.towbook.com: Fills in Towbook's New Call form.
- Access to dashboard.curbsidesos.com: Reads your rotation position, alerts you when you are next, and auto-assigns your chosen driver.
- Access to identitytoolkit.googleapis.com and securetoken.googleapis.com: Firebase Authentication, for signing in and staying signed in.
- Access to firestore.googleapis.com: Your Tow Jam account data, as described in Section 3.
Curbside desktop alerts use your browser's own notification permission for dashboard.curbsidesos.com, which your browser asks you to allow. The Firefox version 1.0.3 also lists a notifications permission and access to nollie-ai-default-rtdb.firebaseio.com; it uses neither, and both will be removed in the next version.
7. Security
All data sent between the Extension and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to stored data is restricted to your own account, and to your company's account for company settings, by Firebase security rules.
8. Your Choices
You can:
- Turn individual features on or off from the Extension's popup.
- Log out at any time from the Extension's popup.
- Uninstall the Extension to stop all data collection and delete the data stored in your browser.
- Ask us to delete your account data, or send you a copy of it, through our support page or the bug report button in the Extension.
9. Children's Privacy
Tow Jam is a professional workplace tool and is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
